Trident Maple Landscape

Newly planted from some standard Tridents which I bought in a group. This has some real potential given some time and some styling. Set in a John Pitt slab.

Chinese Juniper

Bought this for a decent price from Windybank nursery and have just replanted it in a more appropriate pot. It used to be in a large rectangular pot which was disproportionate.

Some tremendous deadwood and shari that I can enhance with lime sulphur over the coming months. I have done some styling to the clouds but still some potential there.

Chinese Juniper

I rarely buy from E Bay these days but this was an exception some time last year. I have spent most of my time working on the clouds of foliage and letting some serious air in between the various parts of the tree. Its starting to look pretty good now.

Trident Maple

This is an old Trident Maple which I have retained from my old days of trading Bonsai on this web site. Its a standard import from Korea, however, this ones strong nebari and trunk give it real potential so I will retain it in my collection for another year or two to see how it develops.

Chinese Juniper

Another recent purchase where I broke the bank to get this Japanese import Juniper on a rock. Loads of work necessary which I have only just started......plenty more roots to expose, definition to create and rock and deadwood to define. I will seriously need to consider the pot as well going forward.

Chinese Juniper

An interesting Juniper in a style which is informal but unusual for a Juniper, hence why I like it. I intend to get it into a much more shallow pot over time as it just looks so elegant and so reminiscent of a single lone tree stood in the plains of Africa.

Hornbeam

I do like Hornbeams as they are very resistant to inclement weather in the winter and can really take on a very gnarled and old look. This one looks much better in the winter when it has no leaves given the amount of deadwood that dominates the centre part of the tree. Big decisions to make on the branch structure and how I define the deadwood over time.

Japanese White Beech

I've had this one a while and I've changed the pot a couple of times already and I need to change it again next Spring. I have also redefned the branches a few times and this Spring I was more radical which I think was the right choice. We shall see when the leaves start to appear. Lots of potential in this one.

Collection

A view of most of my collection. I have moved down from over 60 trees to just over a dozen so I can keep track of them all and ensure the quality gets raised year on year.
